Crenshaw/LAX Light Rail Line
The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project is a 8.5 mile long light rail project consisting of one mile underground tunnel, at-grade and cut-and-cover construction. It will serve Crenshaw Boulevard corridor, South Los Angeles and Westchester communities along with the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The project consists of 8 stations, a maintenance facility, park-ride lots, traction power substations and the acquisition of rail vehicles and maintenance equipment. The new rail stations will be Expo/Crenshaw, Crenshaw/Martin Luther King, Crenshaw/Vernon (Leimert Park Village), Crenshaw/Slauson, Florence/West, Florence/La Brea, Florence/Hindry and Aviation/Century.
DLCE played a key role in providing civil engineering services for track design, street and road improvements at over 12 crossings, grading, drainage utilities, ADA access, parking lots and stations. Our company provided civil engineering support to HNTB, the prime designer on a number of engineering tasks.
